Our best remedy for facing the arrival of winter is to whip up comforting recipes. This time we've dived into a recipe full of lovely childhood memories: French toast.

Whether you use stale bread or brioche, French toast is a quick and easy recipe to make. Just one tip: prepare it at the last minute so you can enjoy it while it's still warm!

Ingredients for French toast

For 4 people:

- 8 slices of brioche

- 300ml milk

- 100ml full-fat liquid cream

- 4 large eggs

- 120g sugar

- 35g butter

- 1 vanilla pod (optional)

- The jam of your choice or our Pistachio Supreme, our Hazelnut Chocolate spread or our Speculoos spread

Instructions

- Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan and add the scraped vanilla pod (optional).

- Beat the eggs in a large bowl. Meanwhile, let the milk cool.

- Add the cooled milk, cream and sugar to the same bowl with the beaten eggs. Mix vigorously with a fork or whisk.

- Melt the butter in a frying pan.

- Once the pan is nice and hot, dip each slice of brioche into the milk-egg mixture. Then cook the slices on each side until lightly golden.

- Serve the slices while still warm, accompanied by the jam of your choice or our Pistachio Supreme, our Hazelnut Chocolate spread or our Speculoos spread.
