Cookie policy
This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use and why, and how you can change your choices at any time.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. Cookies keep your basket from one page to the next, remember your preferences and measure how the site is used. In this policy, « cookie » covers all trackers, including pixels and browser local storage.
2. Your consent
Only cookies strictly necessary for the site to work are placed without your agreement. All other cookies — analytics, personalisation, social media, advertising — are placed only after you have consented through the banner shown on your first visit.
You can accept, refuse or customise your choices by category. Refusing is as easy as accepting and does not degrade your browsing experience or your ability to place an order. Your choice is stored for 6 months, after which the banner is shown again.
3. Categories of cookies used
Necessary cookies (placed without consent)
Essential to the operation of the site: they manage your session, your basket, your account login, form security and your cookie choices.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PrestaShop / PHPSESSID | la-chambre.com | Browsing session, basket, customer account login | Session to 20 days |
| CookieConsent | Cookiebot | Stores your cookie choices and keeps proof of consent | 6 months |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Payment security and fraud prevention | 30 minutes to 1 year |
| reCAPTCHA cookies | Distinguishes human visitors from automated form submissions | 6 months | |
| Display preference cookie | la-chambre.com | Remembers that you closed an information pop-up | Up to 1 year |
Analytics cookies (subject to consent)
These help us understand how the site is used — pages viewed, purchase journeys, devices — so we can improve it. The statistics produced are aggregated. For this purpose we use Google Analytics (_ga cookies) and a dedicated Matomo instance hosted in France (_pk_id and _pk_ses cookies). These cookies are placed only after you consent to the "Statistics" category.
Marketing and social media cookies (subject to consent)
These allow us to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and to show you relevant advertising on other sites and social networks.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook / Instagram) | Advertising campaign measurement and remarketing | 3 months |
| _gcl_au | Attribution of conversions from Google advertising campaigns | 3 months | |
| sib_cuid | Brevo | Visitor identification for e-mail personalisation and campaign tracking | 6 months |
| Embedded content trackers | Elfsight | Display of third-party widgets (reviews, social feeds) | Varies |
The complete, up-to-date list of cookies actually placed, with their exact durations, is shown below.
4. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your choices at any time, as easily as you gave them, from the « Change your consent » panel shown above.
Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out. Cookies already placed are not automatically deleted when you withdraw consent; you can remove them from your browser.
5. Browser settings
You can also configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Please note that blocking necessary cookies will prevent the basket and your customer account from working.
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
6. Transfers outside the European Union
Some cookie providers (Google, Meta, Elfsight) are established outside the European Union. Those transfers are governed in accordance with Chapter V of the GDPR. See our Privacy Policy.
7. Your rights and contact
Data collected through cookies is covered by our Privacy Policy, which sets out your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and restriction. For any question: contact@la-chambre.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL — www.cnil.fr.
