French Christmas Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

150g softened butter
60g granulated sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 egg
280g flour
Christmas jam

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

In a bowl, whisk the softened butter, sugar, and salt until smooth, then add the egg and mix well.

Gradually add the flour until you obtain a smooth dough that does not stick. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Roll out the dough thinly and cut out circles. Pierce one circle with a smaller cutter.

Arrange the dough on a baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

Let cool. Dust the top (perforated circles) of your cookies with powdered sugar before assembly. Spoon a generous amount of Christmas jam.

Arrange beautifully on a plate and enjoy!

Store in an airtight cookie box for a few days.
