Rolled Biscuit for the End-of-School Party
For school fêtes and end-of-year celebrations, La Chambre treats young and old alike with this rolled biscuit filled with Tasty Strawberry or Strawberry Yuzu jam, easy to make with your children!
Ingredients
Do you remember your end-of-year school parties, from nursery through to primary school? And all those chocolate marble cakes and fruit cakes? You'd think every parent had conspired to bring the exact same treats… At La Chambre, we carefully looked into recipes that had to tick several boxes: simple and fun to make, quick, and above all, a hit with kids! The result: our rolled biscuit with Tasty Strawberry or Strawberry Yuzu jam. And we promise, there won't be a single crumb left on the plate by the end of the day.
INGREDIENTS
- 150 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 4 tbsp milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 jar of Tasty Strawberry or Strawberry Yuzu jam
- A few fresh strawberries
- Icing sugar for decoration
EQUIPMENT
- A whisk
- A wooden spoon
- An electric mixer
- Parchment paper
- A spatula
- A clean tea towel
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Over a mixing bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Set the egg whites aside.
- Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture turns pale.
- Fold in the flour with a wooden spoon, then add the milk and mix until you get a smooth batter.
- Whisk the egg whites into stiff peaks with a pinch of salt using an electric mixer. Fold them into the batter in several additions.
- Spread the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Even it out and bake for 13 minutes.
- Dampen a clean tea towel.
- As soon as it comes out of the oven, turn the biscuit out onto the damp tea towel. Roll it up on itself to shape the roll. Leave to cool.
- Spread a thick layer of Tasty Strawberry or Strawberry Yuzu jam over the biscuit and roll it up again. Dust with icing sugar and decorate with a few fresh strawberries.
- Your Tasty Strawberry or Strawberry Yuzu rolled biscuit is ready!
