Stop dreaming. It's not going to happen. But we do have a compromise for you: a fun, simple recipe that takes no time, needs very few ingredients, and gives off holiday vibes. Tempted? Head to the Mediterranean, the azure sky and the sound of cicadas, with our pissaladière-style onion tart.
INGREDIENTS
For one large tart or about ten individual tartlets
Preparation + cooking time: 20 min
- 1 rectangular or round puff pastry sheet
- Parmesan
- 1 jar of Onion confit
- Thyme leaves
EQUIPMENT
- A round cutter
- A paring knife
- A cheese grater
- Parchment paper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Unroll the puff pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Keep it whole or cut out tartlets with a round cutter.
- Shave a few Parmesan curls with the paring knife and grate the rest. Sprinkle the puff pastry with the grated Parmesan. Spread a thick layer of Onion confit, making sure to stop 1 cm from the edge of the pastry — otherwise it may overflow while baking! Scatter a few thyme leaves on top.
- Bake for about fifteen minutes, until the Onion confit caramelises and the puff pastry turns golden.
- Enjoy as part of an apéritif with friends for the tartlet version, or with a green salad as a main course.
- Enjoy!
